William Devoe George 1925 ~ 2010 Our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend passed gently into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on April 1, 2010 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. What a joyous reunion on the other side as he was met by his son, Wayne; his mother and a father he never knew; five brothers; a grandson, Kelly; a great granddaughter, Camille and a host of friends.Dad was born October 12, 1925 in Kanosh Utah to Elmer George and Ambernettie Abbott. His dad died when he was just 2. Dad graduated from Millard High and served honorably in World War II. Dad married our Mom and Grandma, Yvonne (Bonnie) Huff on June 5, 1948 in Fillmore Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple where we became an eternal family. Dad was a contractor by trade and after moving to Magna in 1961 he began working at Hercules until 1977 when he retired for medical reasons. He then worked side by side with his son, Terry every day until one week before he passed away. They were very best friends. He always had a great story to tell to anyone who would listen. He cherished time spent with his family and they were by far his most valued treasure. Dad is survived by his sweetheart of 62 years, Bonnie; daughter, Madelyn (Leland) Ward; son, Terry (Elaine); 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
I had the best Grandpa in the entire world. He was so full of life and stories. It was so hard to watch him deteriorate over the last 5 years. He had Alzheimer's and because of complications after he had cancer surgery he couldn't eat very well.
I visited him two days before he passed away.
My Dad and him were very best friends, and it is so hard to see the pain in my dads eyes now that he has lost his Dad.
I miss Grandpa, but I know I will be with him again.
I am grateful I have the knowledge that families can be together forever. I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation.
I am grateful for the life my Grandpa lead, and for the legacy he has left.
I love him and miss him.
