A Broadhead Year!

It's been forever since we've updated our blog, so I guess it's time.
So we've decided to remind you what the Broadheads did this year.

January....
Nothing too event full happened in January. We brought in the New Year with our friends Clint and Kamille.

February
This was a fun month. We got away for eight days on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera. We had such a wonderful time. In each port we wanted to do something different. So in Cabo San Lucas, (we have been there before) we first went and ate at Cabo Wabo...and made sure we had the Waburrito. Okay it's the best thing ever. We've had it before, so we had to go back. HEAVEN ON A PLATE. (if you like Mexican food) Then we took a Rhino ATV adventure, and went through the desert and down to a beach front. That was so much fun, although super dusty....but so worth it.
In Puerto Vallarta (I know I'm not sure on the spelling.) Our tour was cancelled because of our ship had to rearrange the order of our port stops. But we really wanted to do what we had planned. So we were some of the first off the ship and made our way over to a little stand and booked the adventure we wanted to do. We got to go into the jungle and zip line. Over 1000 feet in the air. It was so much fun. However we were pushing it close getting back to our ship....we were the second to last tender boat back in. That was so scary.
In Acapulco...we went snorkeling...and shopping....and In Ixtapa..we went shopping and we walked along the beach looking for seashells. We had such a great time. The ship was awesome.
Elle stayed home with Grandma Elaine, and Papa. They are such great parents to have watched her for us. That was our February.

March
Dave turned 30!

April
hmmmmmm...do you remember April...that's pretty numb to me.

May
I cut my hair off.

BEFORE

After

We also spent time going to the zoo.

And at all the Jazz playoff home games. GO JAZZ!

June
Dave and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. We didn't do anything too big. We went to dinner and a movie. While Elle got to spend the night at her cousins house. That was her first sleepover. During the middle of the night she got scared and woke up...and tried to ex cape their house. So needless to say she hasn't been ready for another sleep over to any ones but grandmas.
I turned 26 on the 3rd.... And Dave bought me a new T.V. Yes I really wanted it too.
At the End of June my parents took us to Disneyland, along with my sisters and their families. I believe there were 19 of us. We had a great time.

July
Bear Lake!
We went up to Bear Lake for Dave's families annual "reunion". We had a good time. Although while playing some water sports I bursted my eardrum and was in a huge amount of pain. "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt."

Elle also turned 3 on the 10th of July. She had a "Pink" party. And she was most excited to wear her party hat.

August
Elle competed in the Miss American Starlet Pageant
She didn't place, and that's okay. This was her first pageant. However she was chosen to be in their ca lander...She is Miss March 2008
MISS MARCH ELLE BROADHEAD

Elle's cousin Alexa also competed in the pageant. (not against each other.) Alexa won the swimsuit competition, and placed in the top 15. GO LEXI.

At the end of August Kandis B. Designs made their debut at Buyers Fashion Week in Vegas. Kamille Bauer went with and helped so much. I'm so grateful for her selling energy! She's amazing.
While in Vegas we took advantage of the fun. We were given VIP passes to Pure the night club, and so we went dancing one night.
We went and saw KA at the MGM one night...and we made sure we ate at some really awesome places too. We had a good time. It was a fun week to spend away...especially with my best friend!

September
Elle started preschool
Her teachers name is Miss Hollie.
She loves her school.

October
Circus time! My parents once again out did themselves and took everyone to the circus. Elle had a fun time! Here is some silly pictures!

Halloween was fun, as Elle dressed up as Princess Aurora. She's so pretty!

Witches Night Out...at Gardner Village.
I was invited to go with a bunch of Women...and it was so much fun. My friend Heidi pretty much won the costume competition. She was a hoot!

November
Elle is bringing out the silly in us...she is so much fun...and always insists on making funny faces.

This month we also started something we call "Family Movie Night" Family movie night is always on Fridays. We make a big bed with lots of blankets and pillows. And we watch a movie we haven't seen...or haven't seen in a long time. We pop popcorn, and have candy...and spend time with eachother. Elle really looks forward to it, and always asks what movie we are going to watch next.
<

We spent Thanksgiving at Daves Parents house this year. Carolyn and Anthony came in from Colorado and it was nice to visit with them.

December
We tried to make the holiday season as special as we could for Elle. We made Gingerbread houses. We relinquished all control and let Elle do her own thing. She loved the frosting part.

Christmas Day was so magical for Elle. The look on her face was so special. She was excited about everything.

Now on to 2009!
We hope your Holidays were amazing...and your year was great too.
We hope that Next Year is great too!

Car Update.

Hello everyone!
Well here is a little update on our Car.
The freaking lady that hit Dave.....her insurance has "coverage" problems. What ever that means. So needless to say we have had to take out a claim on our policy and go through our insurance to get our car fixed. So it looks like that her insurance isn't going to fix our car. Yeah we are mad...bitter....want to go slash some tires. But what can we do? Grrrrrrrrrrr

Does the Lord work through Cars?

Oh my..oh my! So we have been trying to get out of debt, so we decided that we needed to sell Dave's car. So he put it up for sale last week, and we had some people come to look at it. Well on Tuesday a guy came by, and said "I want to buy it." Gave Dave some earnest money, and said he would buy it on Thursday. Well yesterday (Wednesday) they called and said they needed to buy it now. So about 5 p.m Dave met them at the Credit Union they gave a certified Check, Dave gave them the title...and the car was now theirs. So your asking...what is Dave going to drive? Well my dad is giving Dave a old Bronco (no payment awesome.) Dave just has to get it road worthy, and it's his. So he has been working on it, but it's not ready yet. So my mom told me that we could use her Expedition until he gets the Bronco fixed. So Dave would drive my car to work, and I would drive her car. (Sound good huh?)

Well this morning, I was sleeping in a rather amazing slumber might I add..when I was jolted out of bed by the phone (6 a.m) It was Dave. He was in a car accident. IN MY CAR! Some sleepy lady ran a red light and totally broadsided the car. I had to go rescue him this morning. So Dave was able to drive the car home..(he was only it less then a mile away) And a tow truck will come for it later. However we are totally car-less. So We will have my moms expedition for awhile, and that Lady's insurance will have to pay for a rental car for Dave.

Now...how the Lord works through cars. Had Dave not sold the car yesterday as planned it would of been him in his car that got hit....making the car unsellable. As much as we hate to say that the Lord works in mysterious ways..he does..even if it means a car wreck.

Oh So Happy Halloween!

We had a really great Halloween! Elle got boat loads of candy, and she is so excited about it too. People give out good candy now. She got some great treats...I'm jealous. When I was a kid...you were excited to find one Candy Bar in your sack...now that's all it is...jeez kids these days have it hard! Elle was excited to get dressed up in her Sleeping Beauty Costume, and put on "Mommy's makeup". We first went to our church where our ward, and another had a trunk or treat. It was so awesome. The activities director from the other ward...lined up all the kids in a parade fashion. The kids then were able to show off their costumes, and go from car to car. We gave out maybe 200 candys in a matter of 20 minutes. The kids had their sacks full, and everyone left. Talk about the way to trick or treat. Then we went to Elle's great grand parents (George) And visited them for a little bit. (This Kandis has done since birth; so it's a fun tradition to still have.) Then we came home for a couple minutes before out the door to go visit Kamille and Clint Bauer. We had a nice evening with them, visiting and eating some yummy food. (Thanks Kamille!) Elle had fun with her cousins, all who were dressed so cute. Expecially Rylee who was Raggidy Ann, and had no clue who she was...but was excited to look as cute as she did.

It was a great night!

Welcome to Our Blog!

This is our first family blog! (aren't you happy for us?!)
So what's new with us? hmmmmmmm NOTHING. Well maybe that's not quite true. I'm sure we can find something to talk about, but we are infact super boring 99% of the time.
So let's see.......
Elle loves school. She's so smart and she knows it. The other day she told me. "Mom it's snowing outside." I said to her "no it's not" and she said "yes it is mom, it's snowing at Grandma's" Again I told her it wasn't snowing and she proceeded to tell me "yes it is; it's so complicated" Where she learned the word and how to pronounce complicated is beyond me...but she did.
One more cute story that I'm sure you'll love...we do. She made a HUGE mess in her room, so I told her she needed to clean it up. Well every ten minutes or so I would go in her room to check to see if the mess was getting better...it wasn't. So I had to keep after her. About the 4th time checking on her she told me "I just can't do it, it's too big." I let her know that she made the "too big" mess and that she needed to get it done. She then told me "I need to pray" HA! I just had to laugh, like Heavenly Father is going to help her out of her mess. But later I was humbled by the simple faith she has. Sometimes we make such a mess of something that all we can do is pray help us get out of the mess, even though we made it ourselves. Wow the lessons a little three year old can teach us.

Dave just got released from being the Ward Clerk, and he was put in the Elders Quorum . He misses being a part of the Bishopric, but grateful for this new chance to serve.

Kandis' scarves have offically hit SLC international. I'm excited to see how they sell, and to get more orders. This is super exciting for us...Hopefully you'll see Kandis B. in stores all over. YEAH!

Well as you can see we don't have much new News to report. But keep checking back we might have some amazing news about winning millions. (Hey we can wish!)
