Exorcism Episodes.

Oh my goodness, so my Ava is the hardest child lately.
She is no longer going through the terrible two tantrums...she is having EXORCISM EPISODES!
And I just don't know what to do about it.
She gets this really enormous monster cry/scream/growl thing started and she won't stop for hours!
I just try to ignore it because there is no reasoning with her.  Reasoning with Ava is like reasoning with a goldfish.
So I tried to avoid anything that might trigger an exorcism, but everything triggers it.

Now I'm not trying to compare kids, but Elle was just so easy and this NEVER happened.
So with this one I just kinda feel like I'm blind.

I feel like I'm a good momma, but when this happens I wonder how someone can be a good parent to a possessed child.  When I feel like I want to scream at her (I don't, but I want to).

Any suggestions would be great.  And I'll even give you a virtual hug!

XOXO

It sounds like you're doing the right thing by ignoring it. My kids haven't ever gone on for hours, but they have thrown some major fits in their day. I usually put them on their bed for time out and then close the door. Jayne will come out behind me and I'll just keep putting her back again telling her she can come out when she calms down.
Take deep breaths and remember that she won't do this for the rest of her life. =) Also, don't feel guilty about taking a break when you need it.

This is such a hard age. When Maesa starts to throw a fit, I shut her down immediately. I may do that by (loudly) telling her that no, she is not going to cry about it. If it persits, and it usually does, I take her into her crib and let her cry all she wants. I will usually go back in in five mins and ask her is she wants out. She usually says yes, so I tell her she can't cry anymore. The minute she does, its back in the crib she goes. Repeat as necessary.
How much sleep is Ava getting? Is she sleep-deprived from all the summer fun? That could be a factor. How is she doing eating now? Also, does she have her two-year molars in? Don't you just love the guessing game of being a parent?!
