Fat Talk

Some of you may understand why I am posting this. I am posting this mainly for myself, but also to put it out there for all of you. I am posting this that in hopes it gives myself the right to feel better about weight. As Ava is aproaching six weeks on monday, I have my final check with my doctor. I have to say that it is scary for me. "Week six" means so many things...mainly it means it's time to face the baby weight...it's time to invite ed...or fight ed. Saying I am scared about week six is an understatement, I am completely horrifide, anxious, and nervous. I am afraid that if I don't lose the weight fast then the world will be judging me. Many of you will say "don't care about what the world thinks" well I do care, that is part of the problem. So by me putting this out there it is giving me the freedom to let you my friends and the world know that I want to fight the worlds notions of beauty and thinness. I do believe it is time to say to the world that it is not okay to put self worth on how you look, how thin you are. If we as women,as men, as friends, as human beings start to put self worth on more then how we look there would be less of us who determine our worth on being thin, on how we look. It is time to stop the fat talk!

Oh girl! Don't be so hard on yourself! Your body had 9 months to get the way it is (and with a beautiful result,) give it time to heal, THEN go back to how it was! I think the more you stress about weight, the harder it is to get it off. So relax, enjoy your girls, and throw them in the stroller and go for a walk. You'll feel better and so will they!
Enjoy motherhood, don't worry about it's side effects! You have the power to stop the self-conscious image from spreading to your girls. You want them to feel good about their body image? Show them how-they're watching you. :)

I agree with the last comment. You're amazing. You have so much more power than you know. You have the power to change your life, get rid of ed, and be happy. I recently finished Dr Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss solution. Mainly because I refuse to EVER go on a diet. But I enjoyed it because he talks about taking control of our lives and letting go of all the negative crap that we (and the world) tell us. Much like the video you posted. I love ya! When are we going to get together?

Kandis,
Thanks for the post. I had no idea I cared so much about fat talk. It really bothers me I hate it.
Not only the bad weight talk:
"Do I look fat?" "Look at her"
but also the good weight talk: "wow you look good, did you lose weight?"
I agree it's time to stop that if not in the world at least my own little home. Thanks for enlightening me. Your Gorgeous.

That is so true? Why do we do that to ourselves. I've been complaining to my husband that I'm too big for still have 3 months left in my pregnancy. How stupid to worry about being fat when I'm pregnant! And I've already been worried about losing it after. Thank you for this message. What a great reminder!

Thanks for sharing that with us. It's crazy how skewed the world's view of body image is. I love how the video highlighted that the healthy ideal is different for every person. With how much we are exposed to, it's hard to remember that. You are BEAUTIFUL, Kandis. Never forget that. :)
