Dry skin!

I'm at my wits end with my skin!
I really take such good care of my skin I do.  BUT MY HANDS ARE SO DRY!
On my right hand my thumb and pinkie are so dry, cracked and itchy that I think I would rather amputate them then deal with the itchy pain anymore.  It really is bad!
Does anyone know of any good solutions or remedies...besides a knife!
I'm serious it's really really REALLY BAD!
Help out your itchy sister!

XOXO

Bagbalm. My dad and brother are electricians so their hands are always dry and that is what they swear by for their dry, cracky hands.

Start with some Hydrocortisone to help your skin start to heal. You can find it over the counter in a 1% solution. We get ours at Costco because you can buy 3 tubes for less than you would pay at a grocery store and then we have some on hand for the dry winter air.
After that, Eucerin makes a lotion called Aquaphor. It is fantastic! Aquaphor is thick but so effective.
If you use those two, you will probably notice an improvement in a day or so.
Once your skin has healed, keep up with the Aquaphor and you should be in good shape.
Good luck!

I second the Aquaphor. My kids have used it for eczema in the past and I've used it for my dry skin too. If you slather it on your hands right before bed and then sleep with gloves on, it will work even better.

I love Aquaphor and Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream. Both work wonders.

THe only thing that works for our family's eczema is "Renew" lotion from Melaleuca.

All I can say is don't move to the Midwest! The dry winters here are worse than I've ever seen. I hope one of these remedies work for you:)
